The History of the Project and Acknowledgements

To be fair I have to give the first credit to my parents, Donald and Louise Goonan. Without them this whole thing wouldn't be possible - I wouldn't be here. And to all my grandparents before them, the same is true. It is to them that I owe it all.

I'd like to thank all the Goonans around the Planet Earth for all their help and all their sharing of their individual family histories with me. This project would of been relatively short had you all not been so gracious and contributed so much. I thank you and hope you and your families find this website useful, informative and interesting. I welcome your comments and suggestions.

And I'd like to thank the publishers and authors of all the books where I was able to find and use historical information.

Thanks are in order to the Mormon Family History Library system for all the work they do in preserving the genealogical history of the world and for their help, especially the folks at the Concord, New Hampshire branch. And also thanks to all the people at the various archives and libraries I have visited in New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts and Arizona.

Thank you to the folks at the Van Cortlandt Estate at Croton-on-the-Hudson, New York for their gracious hospitality, and free tour!. And also thanks to the folks at the Historical Society in Ossining, New York  for your help.
